Learning objectives
Understand the meaning of industrial hygiene, which is the discipline that deals with the identification, evaluation and control, also for the purposes of prevention and eventual reclamation, of environmental chemical and physical factors deriving from industrial activity, present inside and outside work environments, which can alter the health and well-being of workers and the population.
In particular, occupational hygiene has as its main object the study and intervention on risk factors in the workplace, related to the determination of pathologies of professional origin.

The course provides the basic information necessary to perform the profession of industrial hygienist.

Teaching methods
Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Teams or Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination.
In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
