Integrated course unit module: HEALTH AND CARE MANAGEMENT

Learning objectives

The course of Health Promotion, will take place at the Department of Medicine and Surgery. The course wants to introduce the proper knowledge to the students and the interventions necessary to promote the health referred to the cardiovascular diseases. The students will acquire skills and methodologies for learning abilities connected with specific professional activity and communications.

Course unit content

The student will acquire informations about health promotion with a particular focus on the field of cardiovascular diseases. The first part of the course is based in a general description describing the health promotion in general following the Ottawa charter. The second part of the courses will take in consideration (hypertension, hypertrophy, heart failure, ischemic heart), risk factors prevention and promotion modality not only for the individual but for the entire community.

Teaching methods

The course will be held through lectures to Students either in the classroom (“in presenza”) or in synchronous-streaming (“in telepresenza”) on the Teams platform. Therefore, the opportunity of Student/Teacher interaction will be preserved both face to face and remotely, by the simultaneous use of the Teams platform.
Lectures will be supported by slide presentations, which will be available to students on the Elly platform (https://elly.medicina.unipr.it).

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam. The students will be examined about knowledges regarding health promotion in the context of cardiovascular diseases preventions. In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
structured written test conducted remotely (by Teams and Elly). The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions on the course contents (reference texts + documents uploaded to Elly during the course). There is no penalty for incorrect answers.
The final mark, reported directly on Esse3, will correspond to the arithmetic average of the assessments obtained in the written test.
