Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows the technical characteristics of the exercises and training. The student will be also capable of processing assessment test to determine the characteristics of the healthy lifestyle. The goal of the course is to define the concept of exercise prescription. Similarly to the prescription of a drug, even for the prescription of the exercise must be made with a real "recipe" that defines type, intensity, duration and frequency of administration. The course aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge of the anthropometry and bio-metrics applied knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows risks and benefits of prescribing exercise in subjects with chronic disease (metabolic syndrome and neurodegeneration) .
At the end of the training activity the student will be able to understand the main instrumental tracking techniques used inrehabilitation. The student will also acquire an adequate technical language, Applying knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows risks and benefits of prescribing exercise in subjects with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, metabolic syndromes and cardiovascular disease, for prevention and therapy of oncological diseases, sarcopenia and osteopenia in aging.
Making judgements
At the end of the course the student is able to choose the training methods differentiating the load based on individual performance, sedentaryism, disese specific risk factors, age, therapy and he must be able to evaluate body composition.

will be treated the instrumental evaluation techniques in laboratory and in the field and their methods of application.
Other contents: definition of Anthropometry; development of the study of
human constitution, the concept of "type" and its applications. Variable
anthropometric characters (concept of normality and anatomical and / or
functional variation). Basic statistical parameters applicable in
anthropometry: frequency distribution, percentiles, two variables
populations, lines of tendency. Anatomical and functional characteristics
involved in the growth and at the various age: childhood, pre-puberal,
post-puberal, adult age. The Anthropometric measures: absolutes and
indexes; osteometry, somatometry, stature, weight, body indices,
assessment of body composition. Axial and body plans and guidance
plans. Definition of the anthropometric points of the body. Choice of the
reference points for Anthropometric measurements. Definition of the
method to be used for each type of anthropometric absolute
measurement. Concept of Body Mass Index (BMI) and its practical
applications. Analysis of some methods currently available for the
assessment of body composition: two or three compartments systems, as
DEXA, hydrodensitometry, plethysmography, bioimpedentiometry.
Applicable tools in the assessment of body composition. The main body
skinfolds. Design, sampling and organization of a data collection sheet.
Anthropometric standards.
Applied Anthropometry.
Auxology: concept of auxological tables and indexes, and their current
applications.
