Learning objectives


At the end of the course the student is expected to be able:
- to know pulp and periradicular diseases
- to collect the medical history and perform the physical examination in a patient with endodontic problems
- to make the correct diagnosis in a patient with dental pain
- to know endodontic instruments
- to know the rationale of endodontic treatment

Teaching methods


Frontal lectures.
Due to the emergency situation, lessons may also be delivered remotely (either in synchronous or asynchronous mode) via Microsoft Teams.

Assessment methods and criteria


The summative assessment of learning involves 2 steps:
1) a written test with 2 or 3 open questions on the topics covered during the course. The test takes place in the last meeting and lasts about 1 hour.
2) an oral test during the exam sessions of the Restorative Dentistry course.
The written and oral tests are assessed by assigning a score on a scale 0-30. The final score of Restorative Dentistry exam corresponds to the average of the scores of the involved courses. The score 30 cum laude is assigned after agreement of the the examination committee
