Course unit content
Main theories and most common investigation methods in developmental psychology. Evolution of different psychic basic functions and development of cognitive, linguistic and social competences. Social development in infancy, early and middle childhood and adolescence. Examination of some specific developmental disorders.
Full programme
The first lessons cover topics of a general nature: you will examine the major theories and research methods most commonly used to study psychological development. In the second part of the course will also address issues relating to the evolution of various basic psychological functions such as emotion, attention, perception, and the development of cognitive, linguistic, emotional and social.
In the third part of the course will also address issues related to social development in infancy, early and middle childhood, adolescence, and some psychological problems specific to different age groups.
