Learning objectives
To provide students with knowledge, theory, basic computer technologies available today.
At the end of the course the student should be able to know the basic characteristics of the computer, the network's potential with regard to the sharing of resources and data access , software for writing and data entry , accessing and updating of data on the database, filling out forms, etc..
Describe the possible applications of PCs in medicine with regard to the acquisition and analysis of signals and images, the management of the department, the clinical decision support and teaching.
Use the basic tools of surfing the net to find the sources nursing
Critically analyze the sources nursing according to the criteria of evidence based nursing.

Teaching methods
The lesson will have an interactive approach with the use of audiovisual aids. Classroom discussion with the students will be encouraged as well as group and individual exercises.
Assessment methods and criteria
The achievement of the objectives of the module will be assessed through a written examination, consisting in closed and open questions on the topics of the course. This will allow to ascertain the knowledge and the understanding of both the theoretical bases and their consequences.
The written examination will include the resolution of problems, to assess the achievement of the ability to apply the acquired knowledge to a simulated medical situations. All parts of the written exam will be equally weighted in the final evaluation.
