Learning objectives

The course aims to provide the knowledge to understand the Italian family law, including its possible future developments.

Course unit content

The first part of the course covers the legal concept of family.
The second part concerns the family founded on marriage, through the analysis of the personal and economic relations between spouses.
The third part of the course covers the legal defects and the crisis of marriage: the hypothesis of nullity, the separation of the spouses, the dissolution of marriage.
The last part concerns the legal status of minors with respect to the family, filiation, adoption, and maintenance obligations.

Teaching methods

The course will consist of lectures.

Assessment methods and criteria

The examination will consist of an oral test. Answers to at least three questions need to be provided. Questions will cover both the textbooks and the lecturing activity.
