Learning objectives

This course is part of the Integrated Course of Medical Psychology and Neuropsychovisual Rehabilitation. It aims to provide the knowledge at the basis of the bio-psycho-social model in health care, which takes into account the biological, psychological and social issues in assessment and intervention on the health/illness of the individual.
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
Recognize the mental functional and dysfunctional processes - associated with the proper management of the disease or to the persistence of states of stress and to the onset of psycho-social complications in chronic patients;
Assess the degree of compliance of patients, and to direct attitudes, attributions and motivations towards the disease and therapeutic treatments;
Manage the learning and therapeutic communication with patients.

A written examination with open-ended questions will be used to verify the achievement of the objectives of this course.
Questions will be related to the contents provided by this course. The level of general understanding of the concepts, and the student's ability to make correct inferences and associations in relationship to them, will be assessed
