Learning objectives

The Integrated Course of Hearing VI (3rd year-2nd semester of CdS in Hearing Aid Techniques) provides the following teaching modules:
the form of Audiology VI aims to enable the student to know and to understand the essential elements of the prosthesis implantable in the field of auditory rehabilitation of conductive hearing loss, mixed and / or sensorineural severe that they can not benefit from traditional hearing aid. The student must acquire the ability to use knowledge and understanding in order to identify the indications and contraindications audiological, to interpret its path verification / adjustment and adaptation audiological and electrophysiological auditory rehabilitation.
The form of Otolaryngology IV aims to enable the student to know and understand the essentials of the major neoplastic diseases of the pontocerebellar angle, in particular the acoustic neuroma and the Neurofibromatosis 2 Students must acquire the ability to use knowledge and understanding in the use of different methods audiometric the aim of providing a proper diagnostic imaging. Furthermore, the ability to use the knowledge and understanding should enable the student to orient himself in the indications in the management of the Plant and the Auditory brainstem.
The modulus of Applied Medical Sciences aims to enable the student to know and understand the essential elements of the adaptation of the hearing aid audiologist. The student must acquire the ability to use knowledge and understanding in the adaptation of digital hearing aids audiology.

Course unit content

The Integrated Course of Hearing VI has the following contents:
The teaching of Audiology VI provides the main argument Implantable prosthesis. Are first described the various types of implantable prostheses, their components and their operation; then analyzes the indications, contraindications, and the selection procedure for patients; explains some hints to surgical technique; treat, then, the procedures for verification / adjustment of electrophysiological implantable prostheses; the lessons end with elements of audiological adaptation.
The Course of Otolaryngology IV aims to address the fundamental aspects of instrumental diagnostic audiological and possible prosthetic rehabilitation in neoplastic disease of the pontocerebellar angle.
The topics of the lectures are therefore mainly directed to the study of acoustic neuromas and neurofibromatosis 2, as well as notes on the other neoplastic diseases of the pontocerebellar angle. The second part of the course is devoted to the discussion of the Plant Auditory brainstem, describing the functional characteristics, indications, strategies electrophysiological intra and post-operative care.
The Course Techniques Applied Medical Sciences aims to examine aspects of the adaptation of audiological hearing aid, in particular, in the hearing loss severe / severe and the prosthesis in children. Depth is the technology of digital hearing aids.

Teaching methods

The lessons require oral presentation in video-projection of the contents of documents with the help of special audiological and clinical aspects. The last minutes of class are reserved for questions of clarification from the students. It provides for the discussion of clinical cases emblematic.

Laboratory Exercises in audioprosthetic and prosthetic adaptation occurs through specific programs for the regulation of digital hearing aids.

Assessment methods and criteria
