Integrated course unit module: KINESIOLOGY OF ADAPTIVE SPORTS

Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows the technical characteristics of the exercises to ameliorate strength and endurance in the adult, and the principles and technical characteristics of gymnastics

Applying knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course the student knows and uses the main training methods for the different motor skills and to improve sport performance.

Making judgements
At the end of the course the student is able to choose and use the main training methods, to increase movement capabilities, differentiating the load based on individual performance for both the type of sport and according to age and gender

Communication skills
the student must use technical terminology

Learning skills
the student must be able to summarize a brief technical text

Course unit content

Methods and techniques to ameliorate sport performances and coordinative skills.

- Factors conditioning performance and their adaptations and correlations with ability and power

- The evolution during the life of the different abilities, strength, speed and their differences between the sexes.

- The physical ability patterns and stages of learning.

- Principles of gymnastics for the adult
