Learning objectives
The course allows the student to understand the legal significance of the employment relationship and its place in the broader system of national and European legal systems. Through the attendance of lectures and study of the material, the student acquires knowledge of the fundamental principles that govern the employment relationship, its distinction from self-employment and its interactions with trade union rights; workers' rights; the powers and prerogatives of the entrepreneur; of negotiation models by which is achieved the recruitment of labor; the specificities of these phenomena in the context of employment in the employ of the government. The course is to make students understand the mechanisms for the 'acquisition and workforce management in organizations (public or private) which carry on their professional activities and their legal regulation, as well as to make them acquire a greater capacity critical evaluation with respect to their rights, their duties and their role as providers of labor.
The student must acquire the information needed to evaluate their professional activities in terms of normative-legal and ethics with specific reference to the reflections in criminal, civil and community health.
At the end of the course the student should be able to discriminate between the different sources of law, to interpret the clinical condition of the patients in relation to the forecasts legal regulations, relate their work professionally towards patients and
of public and private institutions (in health care) to the current legal framework.
The form of occupational medicine aims to provide the basis for understanding the meaning of the concepts of hazard, risk and risk factor for health; aims to promote understanding by the health care professional of the possible consequences in terms of health
exposure to risk factors in the healthcare environment. The student will learn to know and use the personal protective equipment required in the context, as a preventive measure of biological risk. Will learn the reflections of the organization of work on health professionals. Will finally know the meaning of health surveillance and the implications in terms of personal and organizational the judgment of suitability for specific tasks.

Course unit content
The teaching involves the articulation into three modules on the specific content.
The form of labor law is divided into two parts: the first part of the lectures will be devoted to the founding institutions of employment law, such as the source, collective bargaining, the role and functions of trade unions; a second part will instead be addressed in studying issues related more closely to the employment contract: powers and duties of the parties, the labor market and flexible employment contracts, termination and protection of the rights of the employee. The lessons will take particular account the specificities pertaining to the employment relationship in the health sector, as well as any changes in the law have arisen, and also provides the tools, doctrine and jurisprudence, which are useful to interpret the various institutes.
T
hrough the form of Forensic Medicine, the student will learn the principles of bioethics, the Professional ethics and the law; understand the meaning of the offense, the qualification of health care in the face of criminal law, crimes of interest of health with particular regard to "personal injury", the duty to cooperate with the judicial authorities. Also, know the legal im0plicazioni holding health records, professional liability. Finally, know the principles on which rests the Social Security system (Security and Support) with special reference to the conditions of hearing and deaf-mutism.
The form of occupational medicine will complete context knowledge to the future health professional providing an overview of the main risk factors for health and safety in health care facilities. The practitioner will learn the meaning and limits of the use of personal protective equipment, the meaning of health surveillance for the disease to work and work-related diseases.

Teaching methods
The course consists of lectures. During the lectures will highlight the founding characteristics of each institution and discussed general issues related to their application and any court decisions related to the interpretation of the largest and most controversial legal concepts involved, the medico-legal and ethical issues and the application employment contexts.
Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment of the achievement of the objectives of the course
via an oral and written exam with questions
Multiple. The questions are structured so as to ensure:
- Knowledge of the characteristic features of legal institutions treated;
- An understanding of the interrelationships between the functioning of the dynamics organization and regulation of labor relations;
- Critical evaluation of the position of the employee in the organizations, of its rights and its obligations;
- Knowledge of professional ethics;
- The ability to analyze business situations that may pose a risk to the safety and health;
- An understanding of the meaning of health surveillance for health professionals.
The student must demonstrate that they have acquired knowledge and skills appropriate to discuss, in detail, the legal issues relating to the legal and medical profession. The examination shall be deemed passed, compared to the written test, if the student has provided no less than 70%
of correct answers (in multiple choice quizzes), as well as a sufficient content assessed in the interview.
