Career prospects

The design of the training course was contextualized, in agreement with the Provincial Order of Veterinary Surgeons of Parma, Experimental Zooprophylactic Institutes and company representatives involved in the research and development sector to also respond to the new needs of professionalism in the veterinary research circuit at a national and European level.

The areas of interest may be the following:

1. Academic field
2. Industrial Research and Development Sector. The increase in the number and role of pets within Italian families has led to greater attention to animal health and well-being in recent years.

In consideration of this, the concept of "pet-ferential pharmacy" was born, which aims to give the right awareness to the value that a consultative approach of health professionals, the Veterinarian first and foremost and the Pharmacist, covers to promote the correct use of veterinary medicine also in the home and mitigate the risks of therapeutic do-it-yourself. The veterinary products sector is today one of the few segments of the pharmacy market that is growing at a consistently positive rate. Without forgetting the development of animal models that can be used to research new molecules useful for human health (one-health).

3. National and private health system (monitoring, prevention and diagnosis of human and animal diseases as well as monitoring food safety).
4. Freelance profession in the veterinary field and in agri-food companies.
5. International institutions: OIE, FAO, EFSA etc..
