Access qualifications

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (ART. 3 UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS)

1. For admission to the Second-cycle Degree Course in History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts, knowledge corresponding to possession of a First-cycle or other degree qualification obtained abroad, recognised as suitable in accordance with the laws in force, is required.
2. In order to enrol in the Second-cycle Degree Course in History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts, students must be in possession of specific curricular requirements and adequate personal preparation, which will be verified and assessed on the basis of the following criteria pursuant to Art. 6 paragraph 2 of Ministerial Decree No 270/2004.
3. The Council of the Second-cycle Degree Course in History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts (LM) determines, as specified in Paragraphs 4 and 5 of this Article, and publicises each year in the Prospectus, the prerequisites (Academic disciplines and related ECTS credits) necessary for admission and the procedures for acquiring them, if not present in the previous course of study.
4. The Second-cycle Degree Course in History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts is open to students who meet the requirements set out in section 5 a, b and c below.
5a. Admitted to the Second-cycle Degree Course in History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts (LM 89) are graduates continuing in the three-year degree class L-1 (ex D.M. 270/04) or in the three-year degree class L-13 (ex D.M. 509/99) of the University of Parma,
5b. Admission to the Second-cycle Degree Course in History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts (LM 89) is open to graduates in the following degree classes (ex D.M. 270/04): L-1 Cultural Heritage, L-20 Communication, L-03 Visual arts, music, performing arts and fashion studies, L-05 Philosophy, L-10 Humanities, L-11 Modern Languages and Civilizations, L- 42 History, who have acquired at least 60 ECTS credits in the following Academic disciplines:
BIO/08, INF/01, IUS/1, IUS/09, IUS/10, L-ART/01, L-ART/02, L-ART/03, L-ART/04, L-RT/05, L-ART/06,L-ART/07, L-ART/08, L-FIL-LET/02, L-FIL-LET/04, L-FIL-LET/09, L-FIL-LET/10, L-FIL-LET/11, L-FIL-LET/12,L-FIL-LET/14, L-ANT/01, L-ANT/02, L-ANT/03, L-ANT/06, L- ANT/07, L-ANT/08, L-ANT/10, L-OR/05, L-OR/06, L-LIN/01, L-LIN/03, L-LIN/04, L-LIN/05, L-LIN/06, L-LIN/07 L-LIN/10, L-LIN/11, L-LIN/12, L-LIN/13, L-LIN/21, M-GGR/01, M-DEA/01, M-PED/01, M-PSI/01, M-STO/01, M-STO/02, M-STO/04, M-STO/08, M-STO/09, M-FIL/03, M-FIL/04, M-FIL/05, M-FIL/06, SECS-P/10, SECS-P/12, SPS/02, SPS/07,SPS/08 of which at least 18 ECTS credits in the fields L-ART/01, L-ART/02, L-ART/03, L-ART/04 L-ART/05, L-ART/06,L-ANT/07, L-ANT/08, L-ANT/10, L-OR/05, L-OR/06.
5c. Finally, graduates from other degree classes who have acquired at least 80 ECTS credits in the following scientific-disciplinary fields are also admitted:

6. Non-continuing graduate students (cf. par. 5b and 5c) who intend to enrol in the LM 89 History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts must submit an application to the Student registry office addressed to Prof. Simone Ferrari and the competent Teaching Committee, enclosing a degree certificate indicating the examinations taken. The Teaching Committee will assess the applications submitted and will call students for an interview to assess their preparation according to a timetable defined by the Course Council in History and Criticism of the Arts and the Performing Arts (LM) between September and December, which will be published on the Degree Course website.
7. For students who do not meet the curricular requirements and do not have an adequate initial preparation, admission to the course of study is subject to assessment by the professors of the scientific disciplines concerned, who will verify through an interview that they possess the necessary knowledge, and will express a judgement of suitability.
8. For continuing students (cf. paragraph 5a) the assessment of personal preparedness is judged to be virtually fulfilled.
