Studying abroad

The University of Parma offers all its students various opportunities to foster the development of a real international dimension of university study. From exchanges in Europe through the Erasmus Plus Programme to extra-European mobility with the Overworld Programme and numerous pathways for acquiring a double degree.
Some degree courses, in fact, thanks to the conclusion of international agreements with partner universities, provide the opportunity, at the end of the university course, to obtain a double degree with one or more associated foreign universities.

Erasmus modules

Students returning from Erasmus/internship periods must submit a request for validation to the Student Registry Office at Via Volturno 39 by handing in the form downloadable from this page and attaching a copy of the Learning Agreement and the Transcript of records (or of the Before Mobility and the After Mobility in the case of a internship period). It should be noted that, in the case of changes to examination programmes compared to previous years, the prior opinion of the coordinating teacher of the integrated course is required.
If ECTS credits recognition is requested for the final examination, the opinion of the thesis advisor must be attached for approval of the Learning Agreement.

Outgoing students

Erasmus students who have to fill in the Learning Agreement can check the codes of the courses envisaged for their programme of study by consulting the plans published at the following address: https://corsi.unipr.it/it/cdlm-mc/insegnamenti-e-piano-degli-studi At the bottom of the page you will find the PDF with all the programme of study information for your cohort.

For the compilation of the Learning Agreement, it should be noted that, in the event of changes to the examination programmes compared with previous years, or changes to the study programme at the Erasmus site, the prior opinion of the coordinating teacher of the integrated course is required. (please enclose the form) If, when completing the learning agreement, the recognition of ECTS credits for the final examination is required, the opinion of the thesis advisor must be enclosed.

The Learning Agreement must not exceed 30 ECTS credits (+10%) for each semester spent in Erasmus and the number of ECTS credits proposed at the Erasmus site must be congruent with the number of ECTS credits to be recognised at the Parma university.

We remind you that the student who has returned from the Erasmus/internship period must submit the validation request to the Student Registry Office at Via Volturno 39 by handing in the form downloadable from this page and attaching to it a copy of the Learning Agreement and the Transcript of records (or of the Before Mobility and the After Mobility in the case of a internship period)

SISM is a non-profit association created by, and for, medical students. SISM deals with all the major social issues of medical interest, with the basic training processes of medical students, with the orders that these processes regulate, and with the continuing education of students. SISM is a full member of the International Federation of Medical Students' Association (IFMSA), an international federation of medical students recognised as a Non-Governmental Association at the United Nations.

The Professional Exchange is a four-week clinical and pre-clinical experience abroad for medical students. The Professional Exchanges are among the oldest and most consolidated activities of the IFMSA, born in the post-war period, conceived and run by students, aimed at fostering the professionalism and cultural as well as scientific training of future doctors.

The Research Exchange is an IFMSA project that aims to offer all medical students the opportunity to go to a foreign university for a month-long research project.

To date, SISM organises international exchanges with around 50 IFMSA member countries: Australia, Austria, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Canada, Catalonia, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, Estonia, Ethiopia, Philippines, Finland, France, Gambia, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Jordan, Great Britain, Greece, Greenland, Grenada, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, IQuality Assurance Manager, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Kurdistan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Libya, Macedonia, Malta, Mali, Mexico, Moldavia, Montenegro, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Palestine, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Serbia, Slovakia, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Sudan, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Hungary, Uganda, Ukraine, Uruguay, Venezuela, Zimbabwe.

OVERWORLD Programme OVERWORLD is a programme of the University of Parma aimed at widening study and mobility opportunities towards non-European Universities (or of countries not eligible under the EU Exchange Programmes such as Erasmus Plus), which have an active international cooperation protocol with the University of Parma.

Action 1 of the Programme envisages the development of project activities at departmental or inter-departmental level, in collaboration with institutions that have a teaching and scientific cooperation protocol with the University of Parma.

Action 2 envisages the realisation of individual student mobility at one of the Universities having an educational and scientific cooperation protocol with the University of Parma.

As part of the OVERWORLD Programme, since the 2016-17 academic year, the hub to which medical students can travel to attend professional internships and/or do a thesis period is the St. Mary's Birth Hospital of St. Joseph University, in Mbweni (Dar Es Salaam), Tanzania
