Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge necessary for the management and monitoring of water intended for human consumption by analyzing all the qualitative aspects that represent the necessary requirements for safe consumption, according to current legislation. In addition, to complete the integrated water cycle, problems related to waste disposal will be considered. Students should therefore acquire the tools to evaluate the quality of these substrates and the preventive treatments to be put in place for the protection of consumers and the environment.
The course will be integrated, depending on the availability of the Plant Manager, with educational visits to sewage treatment plants and drinking water treatment plant.

Course unit content
The module will focus on the study of the integrated water cycle, thus completing the analysis of the various environmental compartments provided by the course. In particular, issues relating to water intended for human consumption from supply to distribution will be addressed, taking into account all quality parameters and drinking water treatments. Finally, waste water will be described distinguishing them according to origin and characteristics, collection and removal systems, treatment and disposal.

educational material provided by the teacher: lessons slides
Teaching methods
The lessons will take place with frontal mode in presence; the explanations of the teacher will be supported by the projection of slides suitably prepared that will also be provided to students as teaching material of study, deposited on the specific platform for access reserved for students (Elly).
During the lessons, students will be directly involved to verify the degree of understanding of the concepts illustrated.
Assessment methods and criteria
Acquired knowledge will be verified through an oral exam in which the student must demonstrate to know what are the aspects that characterize the water quality and the meaning they acquire in the context of its monitoring. Likewise, for waste water, they must have understood which are the interventions to be implemented for their correct disposal in terms of environmental protection and protection of water as a resource.
Students with DSA/BSE must contact the University Reception and Inclusion Centre in advance.
