Integrated course unit module: ENVIRONMENT APPLIED PREVENTION SCIENCES

Learning objectives

At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to:
-know and characterise the origin of the main pollutant classes,
-be able to assess the risks linked to human activities on the environment and their effects on human health.

Prerequisites

Students need the knowledge gained from the course Fundamentals of Chemistry and the basic knowledge of Organic Chemistry are required.

Course unit content

The course aims to provide the elements for a correct assessment of the risks related to human activities on the environment and their effects on human health. In particular, a targeted illustration will be made 1) to the analysis of a particularly sensitive area such as "air quality" which lends itself both to specific insights and to implications related to other matrices, such as soil, waste and food, and 2) to the effects of environmental pollutants.

Full programme

Material provided by the teacher

Teaching methods

Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Teams or Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam will be oral.
The overall assessment, in thirtieth, is communicated immediately to the student.
In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
remote oral questions, through the Teams platform (guide http://selma.unipr.it/).
Students with SLD / BSE must first contact the University Reception and Inclusion Centre in advance (cai@unipr.it).
