Learning objectives

The aim of this course is to provide students in depth knowledge of the basic principles of psychophysiology, of the relationship between behaviour and physiological responses.

Course unit content

Basic principles on the relations between psychological manipulations and resulting physiological responses, measured in the living organism, to promote understanding of the relation between mental and bodily processes

Full programme

In detail, the following topics will be explored: Introduction to psychophysiology, the nervous system and measurements of its activity, EEG, evoked potentials, neuroimaging, muscle activity and electrodermal activity and behaviour. Principles of applied psychophysiology in neurological and behavioural diseases.
