To provide basic electrical engineering foundations in order to obtain from the learner a good level of competence in the activities related to electrical risk assessment, in the processes of distribution and use of electrical energy.

Main electrical quantities;
concepts of current, voltage and electrical resistance;
series and parallel resistances;
the first and second Law of Ohm;
the first and second principles of Kirchhoof;
Joule's law;
concepts of electrical power;
hints of electromotive force and electromagnetic induction;
electrotechnics in electrical energy distribution systems;
effects of electric current on the human body - safety curve
protection from direct contact, degrees of protection;
protection against indirect contacts: residual-current circuit breaker

Teaching methods
Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.

On-going test evaluation: multiple response tests, circuit electrical engineering exercises
