Learning objectives
The objectives of the course is to define the rationale and the decision-making process of non-surgical endodontic retreatment. The operative phases and the instruments necessary to deal with the most frequent situations will be described, including: removal of coronal interferences, root canal filling materials and intracanal retentions; management of fractured instruments; overcoming blocks and ledges; management of transported apexes and perforations.
Prerequisites
To access this ADE, the student must have attended the Endodontics course at the fifth year and must have passed the related exam

The following videos will be shown:
1-Disassembly & Missed Canals, Quality & Profitability;
2- Nonsurgical Removal of Gutta Percha, Silver Points, Carriers & Paste Fillers;
3- Nonsugical Removal of Posts & Broken Instruments;
4- Management of Blocks, Ledges, Transportations & Perforations.
The students will read the chapter 23 “Endodontic Orthograde Retreatment and Management of Mishaps” from Ingle’s Endodontics 7th ed. Rotstein & Ingle. PMPH USA, Raleigh, North Carolina. 2019.
Clinical cases will be shown and discussed.
Assessment methods and criteria
Learning will be assessed by a multiple choice written test
