Learning objectives
A first part of the lectures is aimed at providing the general principles of the various sampling techniques highlighting the advantages, limits, the appropriateness depending on the type of pollutant present in the places of work and life.
In the second part of the course the main analytical techniques used for the determination of the pollutants will be presented.
Prerequisites
Students need the knowledge gained from the course Fundamentals of Chemistry and the basic knowledge of Organic Chemistry and Physics are required.
Course unit content
By attending this course, students will learn the basic concepts of the main techniques of sampling and analysis of pollutants; they will learn to evaluate which sampling technique and what type of analysis is more appropriate to apply depending on the type of pollutant to be determined.

Teaching methods
Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Teams or Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.
Assessment methods and criteria
The achievement of the objectives of the training module will be established during the oral examination provided by the teaching. Through questions on the topics covered in the course will assess the knowledge and understanding of the content by the student.
