Learning objectives

The course aims to provide students the knowledge and understanding of the essential elements of Dentistry Conservative / Restorative also in the light of the epidemiological pathology of caries, traumatic injuries, anomalies of tooth structure and to the health needs of the population. The purpose of the course is also to provide the student with the ability to use the knowledge and understanding gained in the person identifying the risk of disease in order to implement the appropriate preventive or treatment as suggested by the most recent national and international guidelines l. By the end of the course, students should have gained competence in the following areas related to endodontics:

- Identifying pulp and periradicular diseases
- Collecting a patient's medical history and performing a thorough physical examination to diagnose endodontic issues
- Accurately diagnosing dental pain
- Understanding endodontic instruments and their uses
- Understanding the rationale and phases of endodontic treatment

Course unit content

Diagnosis, prevention and therapy of diseases reconstructive caries, traumatic injuries, anomalies of tooth structure congenital and acquired with particular attention to the use of materials and the application of the latest techniques of restorative dentistry. Biology of the normal pulp and etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries of the pulp and associated periradicular conditions
