Learning objectives

Learn the basics of modern Physics.
To get acquainted with the difficulties inherent the planning of a new experiment.
To get some sensitivity in order to evaluate the magnitude of the different variables
that come into play.

Course unit content

This course offers to the students, almost at the end of their undergraduate training, a series of experiences, some of them being related to the birth of "Modern Physics", others related to current research themes.

Assessment methods and criteria

Two oral interviews (colloquia), consisting of the discussion of the reports of the performed experiments . Typically the first colloquium, concerning the 1.st module activities, is held in the February session and the 2.nd, on the activities of the 2.o module, in the summer session. The final score is the average of the two scores of teh two colloquia.

Other information

Active participation of the student in the laboratory experiences is an essential part of the course, as well as of the evaluation path.

In the presence of special conditions (for example, in the case of working students) a personalized course could be planned.
