Learning objectives
The student is expected to acquire and understand the means to be able
to formulate the diagnosis and define treatment for the most common
children’s diseases with odontostomatological features, offering a broad
spectrum of specialist healthcare, appropriate and efficacious in the
dental care of children, adolescents and patients with associated
diseases. Particular emphasis will be placed on prevention techniques,
clinical assessment and treatment of traumas.
Prerequisites
Students must have passed all the examinations of the previous years

The normal and pre-term newborn, clinical examination and physiological
phenomena.
-Neonatal diseases: infections. respiratory diseases (RDS
- Nutrition: breast-feeding, weaning, children
- Allergic diseases
-Semeiotics pediatric pulmonary
-Pneumonia and bronchiolitis
-Asthma
-Cystic Fibrosis
-PUpper respiratory tract diseases
-Diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus at onset in childhood
-Pathophysiology and clinical of major congenital heart disease
-Cardiomyopathies
-Main chromosome abnormalities
-Gastronteritis acute, malabsorption, inflammatoriy bowel disease, -
Gastroesophageal reflux -
-Glomerulonephritis and nephrosis
-Rheumatic Disease
-Leukemia and major childhood cancers-Urinary Tract Infections
-Growth physiology and pathology (growth delay: primary and secondary
growth hormone deficiency)
-Epilepsy and convulsions
-The patient with neurological damage
-Endocrine diseases
-Main systemic diseases that affect the oral cavity and dentition / tooth
-Use of pain medication/antibiotics in children.

Obiettivi formativi Lo studente deve acquisire e comprendere i mezzi per poter formulare la
diagnosi e il trattamento delle più comuni patologie pediatriche con
effetti odontostomatologi dell'infanzia, realizzando un'assistenza sanitaria
specialistica ad ampio raggio, adeguata ed efficace nelle cure
odontoiatriche per i bambini, gli adolescenti e nei soggetti nei quali sono
presenti patologie associate. Viene dato particolare rilievo alle tecniche
preventive, alla valutazione clinica e al trattamento dei traumi.
Prerequisiti Lo studente deve aver superato tutti gli esami dell'anno precedente
Metodi didattici Lezioni frontali e interattive e discussione di casi clinici con impiego di
slides.
Qualora a causa del perdurare dell'emergenza sanitaria fosse necessario
adottare la modalità a distanza saranno tenute mediante il supporto della

Modalità di verifica
dell'apprendimento
La valutazione sommativa degli apprendimenti è effettuata tramite un
esame finale orale, interrogazione con valutazione 0-30. Il voto della
prova orale viene comunicato immediatamente al termine della prova
stessa. Qualora a causa del perdurare dell'emergenza sanitaria fosse
necessario adottare la modalità a distanza per gli esami di profitto, si
procederà come segue:
