Learning objectives

The course aims to provide the student with the knowledge of the radiographic anatomy
in a particular moment of the training.
In fact, during the first year of the course, the student is already engaged in the study of the human anatomy.

Course unit content

To know and understand the general basis of the teleradiographic cranio-facial anatomy.
Main topics of the program:
• The historical development of the teleradiographic analysis, from the analogical and bi-dimensional to the modern digital and tri-dimensional radiographs
• To be able to identify the quality of a correct cranio-facial teleradiography
• To be able to prepare the patient for the examination
• To recognize on the teleradiograpy the anatomical structures of every bone of the skull and the face

Teaching methods

Lessons, exercises and discussion of teleradiography in order to train students in a critical capacity on the topics and allow to acquire a knowledge of the craniofacial skeleton in the teleradiographic vision.

Assessment methods and criteria

Evaluation of the ability to apply the acquired knowledge to the professional practice through practical exercises of anatomical tracing
