Integrated course unit module: RECONSTRUCTIVE ODONTOIATRICS

Learning objectives

The aim of the training is to learn the main phases of the endodontic technique on dental models and endodontic simulator

Prerequisites

Anatomy of the dental elements and root canals

Course unit content

-Access cavity
-Isolation of the operating field with rubber dam
-Radiography in endodontics
-Shaping of root canals
-Instrumentation of root canals
-Obturation of the root canal system

1 Access cavity
2 Isolation of the operating field with rubber dam
3 Radiography in endodontics
4 Shaping of root canals using different techniques (manual, mixed and mechanical using Ni-Ti instruments)
5 Instrumentation of root canals using thermafil instruments
6 Three-dimensional obturation of the root canal system

Teaching methods

The different phases of the endodontic techniques, illustrated first through the lectures, will subsequently be shown directly on the endodontic simulators and then repeated by the student

Assessment methods and criteria

The student will repeat, under the guidance of tutors, the different steps of endodontic techniques on simulators
