Why in Parma?
The three-year degree course in Orthoptic and Ophthamologic Assistance is based at the Ophthalmology Complex Operating Unit, together with all branches and applications of modern ophthalmology.
Both current and innovative diagnostic instruments are utilised, often directly by the Ophthamologic assistant.
In addition to the aforementioned Complex Operating Unit, the professional activity relies on specialised affiliated facilities, such as the Cardinal Ferrari Rehabilitation Centre in Fontanellato and the Parma branch of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired.
You will also have the opportunity to attend screening activities for amblyopia performed by dedicated personnel.

After graduation
You will work as an orthoptist and ophthalmology assistant at health authorities, hospitals and universities, or be a freelancer in medical practices.
You can enrol in a first-level university Master's degree course and a Master's degree course in Health Professions Rehabilitation Sciences, should you wish to broaden your skills.
