Doctoral School in Science and Technology

Organisation

The governing bodies of the Course are the Coordinator and the Teaching Board. The Coordinator is supported by the Deputy Coordinator, the Review Group, the Advisory Board and the Education Manager.

Coordinator

The Coordinator is in charge of the PhD Course, directs its activities and represents it:

  • Coordinates and organizes the educational and administrative activities of the PhD Course;
  • Convenes and chairs the Board of Teachers and ensures that its decisions are implemented;
  • authorizes, also through the relevant Supervisors, PhD students to travel abroad to carry out research activities or internships in partner Universities or in other Institutions or Research Centers, for periods of less than six months;
  • is responsible for the quality assurance of the programme. He/she is responsible for the preparation of the Annual Report monitoring and reviewing the PhD Course activities;
  • chairs and coordinates the Review Group and the Advisory Board.

Deputy Coordinator

The Deputy Coordinator is appointed by the Coordinator and replaces him in all his functions in case of absence or temporary incapacity.

Teaching Board

The Board of Teachers is responsible for defining the objectives, planning and implementation of the PhD Course. It has scientific, organizational and teaching responsibilities. The Board of Teachers also deliberates in all the cases foreseen by the  Regolamento dei corsi per il conseguimento del dottorato di ricerca (in applicazione del DM 226/2021).

A representative of the doctoral students for each active cycle participates in the work of the Teaching Board, with a consultative and non-binding vote, limited to the discussion of didactic and organizational issues:

Review Group

The purpose of the Review Group is to support the Coordinator in annual monitoring and periodic review activities, as well as in the preparation of related documents.
The Review Group is proposed and approved by the faculty and is composed of:

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board has an advisory and guiding role regarding the training and research project of the PhD Course.
The Advisory Board is convened annually in order to create a solid constructive interaction between academia and the world of work, this allows to keep the skills provided to PhD students up-to-date and consistent with the labor market and to promote interventions aimed at improving the PhD Course quality and updating of training and research offerings.

Education Manager

Education Manager provides organizational process management support for the planning, organization and management of teaching activities, participates in the course self-evaluation process.

Doctoral School

The PhD Course in Drug Sciences is part of the Doctoral School in Science and Technology.

The School is responsible for promoting, organizing and coordinating the teaching of the University's PhD Courses, the third level of the university's educational offering.
