The course aims to enable the student to learn and understand through lectures and interactive practices, the basic principles that allow a deep understanding of the key diagnostic tests in physiological and pathological conditions of the visual system.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
The student at the end of the course, and using the knowledge of anatomy and physiology, will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic aspects of physics, biophysics and pathophysiological perspective.

Prerequisites

anatomy of the eye and optic pathways;
principles of wave scattering;
mechanisms of the neuronal synapse.

Course unit content

The course aims to deepen the principles of physics, biophysics and optics pathophysiological useful for the study of the visual system and the use of diagnostic and rehabilitative techniques pertaining to the orthoptist-assistants in ophthalmology.
