Learning objectives

The aim of the course is to 'equip' students with adequate
knowledge of the theoretical and methodological foundations of educational psychology.

Course unit content

The aim of the course is to examine models of educational psychology and the basic processes of learning, applying them to individual and socio-cultural contexts of human development.

Full programme

Introduction to educational psychology.
Models of study: behaviourist, socio-cognitive and socio-constructivist approaches. Motivation and emotions in learning processes.
Individual and socio-cultural differences in development and learning processes.

Teaching methods

Lessons will be held in presence.
Lectures and individual in-depth studies will be offered in order to
encourage the acquisition of theoretical knowledge. Moments of discussion and possible classroom exercises
classroom will be proposed in order to promote the acquisition of the ability to
application of knowledge in reality, autonomy of judgement and
communication skills.
All course material will be uploaded on the Elly platform
(Syllabus, lecture slides, in-depth articles).

Assessment methods and criteria

The examination will take place in written form and will comprise 30 closed and multiple-choice questions and one open question. Each correct closed answer will be awarded 1 mark. The answer to the open question will serve to confirm or improve the mark awarded. At least 18 questions must be answered exactly to pass the examination.
