Advising and guidance
Advising and guidance (Orientation) refers to all activities enabling future or current students to plan and manage their education in a manner consistent with personal life goals, making full use of the individual's skills and interests to achieve personal fulfilment.
Depending on when these activities are carried out during the university course, we distinguish between:
- advising: held before the choice of course of study, it targets future students and helps identifying the course to be taken based on individual interests, expectations and aptitudes. In this phase, the different possible scenarios are presented to the prospective student and the options of the university course are explained;
- guidance: carried out during university, it guides students through their courses of study, enabling them to better interact with the university structures and context;
- career guidance: onducted close to or after graduation, is designed to facilitate graduates and undergraduates in their transition to the workplace.
