Non-selective test

The entrance preparation test is compulsory in accordance with Article 6 of Italian Ministerial Decree No 270/2004. The test is non-selective and is intended to verify overall possession of the basic mathematical and linguistic knowledge and skills considered relevant for successful completion of the university course.

Test topics and bibliography

The test consists of multiple-choice questions.

Topics will include (see also Syllabus)

  • elements of logic;
  • equations;
  • inequalities;
  • Euclidean and analytical geometry;
  • percentages, proportions and properties of numbers;
  • elementary properties of functions;
  • trigonometry.

How to register for the test

To take the test, the student must register online using the form that will be made available online by the opening date for registration.

When registering for the test online, students with disabilities may apply for auxiliary aids and/or additional time to take the test, through the Reception and Inclusion Centre (www.cai.unipr.it) for support to vulnerable groups, students with disabilities and students with specific learning disorders. If necessary, the test can be administered in paper form.

The online enrolment procedure on the Uniparma Click website does NOT entail automatic enrolment for the test.

The outcome of the test does NOT in any way affect enrolment in the Mathematics degree course.

Who is not obliged to take the test

They are exempt from taking the test:

  • those enrolling on a degree course in Mathematics having already obtained a degree;
  • those transferring from another degree course at our university or another university;
  • foreign students who have obtained a secondary school diploma abroad;
  • students who, in the course of 2022 or 2021, have successfully taken self-assessment tests provided by certified bodies (such as CISIA) or who have passed the final exam of the CORDA orientation course in the same years with a score to which a bonus of two points is due, provided that they present documentation proving that they passed the test.

When the test takes place

For the a.a. 2022-2023, the test will be held in September 2022. The date of the test and how it will be conducted will be announced on this site as soon as it is available.

Additional training obligations (OFA)

Students who do not pass the placement test or who do not present themselves to take it will be obliged to attend at least 70% of the lessons of the Elements of Mathematics course and to pass the relevant examination before being able to take any other examination within the Degree Course.
