Admission procedures

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Admission to the degree course requires an upper secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable under current legislation.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED For enrolment in the degree course, it is necessary to possess an adequate initial preparation, generally provided by almost all secondary education courses, including a satisfactory knowledge of mathematics. For further details see the Degree Course website.

VERIFICATION OF KNOWLEDGE Verification of the knowledge required for access to the degree course will be carried out in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Course Regulations.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING OBLIGATIONS A negative result in the knowledge test entails the allocation of an additional training obligation (OFA), which must be fulfilled during the first year of the course on the basis of criteria defined annually and specified in the Course Regulations.

Admission procedures

The course is open to applicants under Art. 2 of Law 264/1999, in order to provide access to highly specialised laboratories, computer and technology systems or customised study places. The number is decided from year to year by the relevant academic departments, after assessing the teaching, structural and instrumental resources available for the organization, management and operation of the course: for the academic year 2020/2021, the number of enrolled students is set at 144 of whom 5 are from non-EU countries (including 2 students of Chinese nationality from the Marco Polo Project).
Programming is especially necessary due to the intense laboratory activity that has been present since the early years of the course and is aimed at guaranteeing access to the greatest number of students, in line with the right to study and, at the same time, to ensure quality teaching, offering each student spaces, laboratory equipment and materials, technical assistance and teaching appropriate to the aims of the course.

All students who have obtained a secondary school diploma or an equivalent foreign qualification may enrol in the degree course.

Admission to the degree course for the academic year 2020/2021 will be based on a ranking that takes into account the chronological order of enrolment, with merit being evaluated through the final grade.
Procedures and deadlines are published in the prospectus and in the call of access to the Degree Course accessible via the Degree Course website.
