Learning objectives

The course aims to:
(a) discuss the phenomenon of gender-based violence, in its various manifestations.
(b) Raise Students' awareness on contrasting and preventing gender-based violence.

Prerequisites

No prerequisite is required.

Course unit content

Vastness of the phenomenon, classification of the various forms of violence.
Risk situations and sentinel events.
The effects of violence on people's psychophysical health and social implications.
Victims of witnessing violence.
The role of professionals in helping women victims of violence.
The structuring of the anti-violence network and the various professionals involved.
Participation to a Conference on Gender Violence.
