Learning objectives

NURSING IN MEDICINE
The course aims to provide students with the tools and theoretical concepts for the study of the organization of care processes and for the planning of clinical cases, through a scientific method that is identified in the Nursing process

NURSING METHODOLOGY APPLIED TO CLINICAL-CARE SITUATIONS
At the end of the course the student must:
- Know the peculiarities of each body system
- Know the main human needs and the factors that influence them
- Know the behaviors related to maintaining health

SEMIOTICS APPLIED TO NURSING
The student will have to know the main signs and symptoms of each individual apparatus, both through the systems approach and through the head-toe examination. He will have to know the reference values ​​of the vital parameters, whether they are the expression of a condition of normality and well-being or the expression of pathological pictures.
The student will have the opportunity to know the main nursing maneuvers and techniques for the detection and study of these biological expressions.
Therefore, for each topic the student is required to be able to define it completely, to provide reference values ​​and / or defining characteristics, to describe any survey sites and any main acquisition / survey techniques.

THE USE OF SOURCES AND DATABASES IN NURSING
Know the methods of accessing the main online databases and use them
easily in researching and solving clinical questions.
The course aims to introduce learners to the fundamentals of bibliographic research and how to use electronic biomedical databases

ENGLISH LANGUAGE WORKSHOP
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand the contents of texts on topics of health interest

- Broadly support a technical discussion in one's own disciplinary field
- Translate articles of clinical-care interest

NURSING IN MEDICINE
Organization of care processes:
o Priority health problems
o The patient's care pathway
o Nursing competence
o Diagnostic reasoning and nursing diagnosis.
Clinical-assistance case planning for which students must:
o Describe the pathology: outline of anatomy and physiology, definition, etiology, predisposing factors, signs and symptoms, complications, main diagnostic investigations and treatment
o Identify the patient's priority problems
o Identify the NOCs
o Define short, medium and long-term goals in a realistic way for the patient, congruent with the problem, measurable and timed
o Describe the evaluation and monitoring interventions and the autonomous and collaborative assistance interventions necessary for the achievement of the set objectives.
The cases considered are the following: diabetes mellitus, stroke and heart failure.

NURSING METHODOLOGY APPLIED TO CLINICAL-CARE SITUATIONS
Outline of the main systems of the organism with in-depth analysis of the determinants that interact on the needs of the person, both physiological and pathological.
Analysis of the best evidence related to people's behavior to ensure well-being.

SEMIOTICS APPLIED TO NURSING
Semeiotics in the nursing profession.
Semeiotics of the nervous system.
Semeiotics of the cardiovascular system.
Semiotics of the respiratory system.
Semeiotics of the integumentary system.
Semeiotics of the gastrointestinal system.
Semeiotics of the genitourinary system.
Semeiotics of the musculoskeletal system.
Body temperature.
Pain.

Frontal and interactive lessons: the student will be able to use the
knowledge acquired during the course, thus verifying its correctness
learning; the teacher will be able to ascertain whether the notions have been
acquired and, if not, modulate the program in good time
didactic, slowing down, pausing, repeating and simplifying the
methods of acquiring knowledge. Contribution will be requested
of students in small group work.
