the student should possess basic notions on the pathophysiology of the hematopoietic system and of the oncogenetic and infective process. The knowledge of conventional and innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies is also required.

Pathophysiology of the hematopoietic system
Stem cells and bone marrow transplantation
The student should aquire the basic knowledge on the pathogenesis of following conditions:
Anemias, thrombocytopenias, neutropenia;
Myelodysplastic syndromes;
Acute Leukemias;
Myeloproliferative diseases;
Monoclonal gammopathies and Multiple Myeloma;
stem cells;
bone marrow transplantation;
conventional and targeted anticancer therapy;
roles and functions of oncoproteins;
MAPK, AKT, STAT3, p53, p73, NF-kB PML and c-Abl signaling pathways;
cell cicle; Apoptosis; necrosis; myeloid differentiation;additive synergistic antagonistic pharmacological interactions between two or more drugs
