Learning objectives

Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to be able to:
- know the technical solutions and innovative materials presented during the course;
- know how to design an energy upgrading intervention by applying one or more materials and/or technical solutions presented during the course;
- be able to analyze material data sheets and critically analyze the performance needs of an existing building.
- To know how to communicate the results of the exercise

Prerequisites

Technical Physics and Technology courses developed during the Bachelor's degree program.

Course unit content

Evolved Systems for Architecture refers to those technologies that make it possible to develop intrinsic characteristics of materials in order to take full advantage of the possibilities given by technological developments.
Consider the building as a system on which continuous improvements can be made.
The course consists of lectures that illustrate innovations on materials and construction techniques using nanotechnology.
During the course each student will develop, through an exercise, the technological and performance improvement of a building - case study.
