Integrated course unit module: KIDNEY AND URINARY TRACT PATHOLOGIES

Learning objectives

Aim of the course is to the student to distinguish a mechanic or inflammatory pain, to know the classification of the rheumatic diseases and the main manifestations of rheumatic disorders, other than to be able to make a differential diagnosis among them.
The course aims also to provide short notes on the drugs used for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, with a careful attention on more recent biotechnological drugs, and on the treatment strategies in rheumatology.

Course unit content

The term “rheumatic diseases” encompass a large number of pathologic conditions characterized by pain and musculo-skeletal involvement. Rheumatic diseases are very heterogeneous, including inflammatory or degenerative, inherited or acquired, mechanic or immune-mediated conditions.
