Learning objectives

Provide technical and regulatory basis in the field of production,
management and use of electricity, in order to make the management
engineer able to appropriately interact with internal company, customers
and suppliers.

Course unit content

Two-pole systems in D.C.: resistors, voltage and current sources, power
analysis. Electrical circuit analysis in D.C.: Millman's theorem, node and
mesh methods, effect superposition, Thevenin's and Norton's theorems.
Capacitors and inductors. Lumped parameter circuits. Power analysis of
capacitors and inductors. Transient circuit analysis. Time domain solution.
AC circuit analysis: the Steinmetz transform. AC power analysis. Power
factor correction. Resonance. Three phase systems. Delta and wye
connections.
