Integrated course unit module: GYNECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS (PETSE)

Learning objectives

Gyneacologica area:
to know most important clinical pathways in gynaecology and gyneacological procedures such as: ultrasound, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, curettage, pap test and its report, colposcopy.
To know how to collect the gynaecological history.

Obstetrics area
the student will learn about the management of the pregnancy, obstetric examination (Leopold maneuvers and fundal height measures), cardiotocography, description of vaginal delivery and cesarean section.

Prerequisites

In order to attend the internship the student must have attended the Course and aquired minimal knowledge about the anatomy of female pelvis

Course unit content

Knowledge and application of most important clinical pathways in gynaecology and obstetrics.
To understand the gynaecological patient major issues through clinical reasoning.
To describe the aim of physiological pregnancy management.
To know and to practice principal gynacological procedures.
