Learning objectives
Students will develop knowledge and skills to evaluate the wine product through ampelographic and territorial studies, and they will understand the close relationship between wine and its terroir: fundamental element aimed at a correct communication in different professional contexts.
Prerequisites
Propaedeutic courses are not formally required.
Course unit content
The course offer to the student a full immersion in wine culture, thank you to historical, geographical, social-environmental and productive analysis.
Furthermore, the sensory and communication aspects and the fundamentals related to the wine production chain and the terroir will be taken into consideration.
Full programme
The educational path focuses on the study of wine through different aspects: geographical, historical, productive, social, economic, sensorial, aesthetic, geopoetic, communicative and storytelling.

Teaching methods
Theoretical and practical frontal lessons (eg: presentation of case studies), sometimes in the presence of actors in the wine supply chain, and technical visits to operating realities in the relevant sector. Supporting the lessons will be films and multimedia material.
Assessment methods and criteria
Group/single assignment and oral examination.
