Learning objectives
The course is part of the integrated course Otolaryngology of Head and Neck Diseases and aims to enable the student to learn and understand the fundamentals of the etiology , pathogenesis, symptomatology , diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the ear , nose , pharynx, larynx and hypopharynx . The student gains the ability to use knowledge and understanding in order to identify the correct diagnostic and formulate an adequate , albeit basic, therapeutic plan.
Prerequisites
Having successfully completed the pre-clinical Courses.
Course unit content

Teaching methods
Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam . In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
remote oral questions, through the Teams platform (guide http://selma.unipr.it/).
Students with SLD / BSE must first contact Le Eli-che: support for students with disabilities, D.S.A., B.E.S. (https://sea.unipr.it/it/servizi/le-eli-che-supporto-studenti-con-disabilita-dsa-bes).
In the verification phase , the student must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the basic elements of the etiology , pathogenesis, symptomatology , diagnosis and treatment of ENT diseases. Faced with the simulation of a clinical situation , applying the knowledge and understanding , the student must be able to formulate a sufficient diagnostic and therapeutic plan.
