Integrated course unit module: HISTOLOGY AND EMBRYOLOGY

Learning objectives

At the completion of the course the student will be required to know and to identify by light mcroscopy the structure of the tissues. Eventually he will be required to show he has acquired the ability to observe and subsequently to describe biological objects with a suitable language.

THE BLOOD, THE HISTOLOGICAL BASIS OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Full programme

Blood: composition and function. Plasma and its components. Figured elements: erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets. Hematopoiesis.
The lymphatic system: generalities. Lymphatic system cells, outline of immunity. Lymphoid organs. Lymphatic system and lymph.
