Learning objectives

- to familiarize with the technical basis of the main imaging techniques
- to achieve the basics of conventional radiography, CT, MR, ultrasound for the main disorders
- to apply the basics and appropriateness criteria of the main tools of diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy in the clinical and surgical settings
- to read and understand the clinical indications
- to apply human and fisiology knowledgement to imaging

Course unit content

- Technical basis of the diagnostic and interventional imaging
- Basic knowledge of radioprotection for both radiologists and patients
- Basic knowledge of diagnostic and interventional imaging of the main disorders
- Indications and appropriateness of the diagnostic investigations
- Anatomy and fisiology, human and cardiovascular applied to imaging
- Imaging modality to study cardiac structures in ecocardiography, SPECT, PET, RM and CAG

Assessment methods and criteria

The course objectives achievement will be verified as follows:
1) A written and/or oral test after some lectures.
Questions aim to verify students knowledge and understanding of the lectures key points. The average score will be averaged with that of the final oral test
