Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding
Knowledge of how engineering companies plan and manage their activities; enrichment of its technical background. Understanding of the technical, economics, and management needs of the engineering activities in an international context.

Applying knowledge and understanding
The student applies the technical knowledge in an operational context and on real cases. He is invited, whenever the conditions are met, to propose modifications to the design solutions.

Making judgements
The student is encouraged to identify the best strategy to solve practical problems

Communication skills
In his activity the student must communicate and act with workers with different technical and cultural background and in a foreign language.

Ability to learn
The student increases his self-learning skills, coming into contact with new problems and learning to manage new challenges, in a context outside of Italy that can therefore open the mind on an international field.

Prerequisites

Since the stage is supposed to provide the chance to apply engineering expertise in a working environment, the student should apply for it only when he has acquired a good deal of such expertise. Therefore, the stage is scheduled in the last semester of the second year and after the achievement of at least 110 CFU.

Course unit content

Students may apply for a stage period at foreign engineering companies, Public Agencies, Municipalities and industries to get in touch with a work context in foreign country. The activities at the company will be
agreed upon by the university tutor and the company tutor. Students may select stage opportunities https://www.unipr.it/internazionale/opportunita-studenti-italiani/modulistica or to suggest a theme and a company by themselves, getting the university tutor and the company tutor in touch.
For each ECTS credit, 25 hours of stage are foreseen.

Learning by practice with the control of the company tutor and the university supervisor

Assessment methods and criteria

At the end of the stage the Department's International Mobility Commission evaluates the activity carried out on the basis of the documentation received from the host organization / company, for the assignment of the ECTS credits
