Learning objectives
The objective of this course is to give students notions on the origin of cell stemness and specifically of the pluripotency. At the end of the course, students will be able to discuss critically the molecular bases of cell differentiation during preimplantation development.

The students will be given articles that expand the specific theme described during the lessons together with the slides used by the teacher.
Teaching methods
Before each new lesson, the teacher will first summarise then check whether the previous topics have been well understood through an interactive discussion with the students.
Assessment methods and criteria
There will be a final oral exam embedded with the exam of histology, during which the student wil be asked three questions on topics discussed during the course. Not only will be evaluated the understanding of a specific topic valued, but also the capacity of the student to trace, using the appropriate language, those links necessary to the understanding of the biological phenomenon described.
