Academic Board
The Academic Board, chaired by the Coordinator, is responsible for the following activities:
- Planning and organizing the program’s educational activities;
- Managing admission exams, final exams, and ongoing evaluations;
- Awarding scholarships and appointing supervisors (tutors);
- Monitoring the research progress of each PhD candidate and organizing tutoring activities;
- Establishing agreements with public and private entities on topics related to the program’s disciplines;
- Activating agreements and protocols for training and research activities at other institutions;
- Deciding on admissions to subsequent years and on any dismissals or reassignments of scholarships;
- Appointing evaluators and members of the final examination committee;
- Defining possible conditions of compatibility with other activities;
- Authorizing PhD candidates to carry out tutoring and supplementary teaching activities for undergraduate and master’s degree students;
- Approving research stays abroad and internships in Italy and abroad;
- Reviewing requests for suspension or extension of the PhD program.
Three PhD candidate representatives from active cycles participate in the activities of the Academic Board:
The Teaching Quality Manager also attends the Board meetings.
In case of temporary absence or impediment of the Coordinator, their functions are performed by the Deputy Coordinator.
For the 40th cycle, the Academic Board consists of 54 members, including 14 affiliated with foreign institutions.
