Integrated course unit module: DENTAL MATERIALS AND PROSTHETIC TECHNOLOGIES

Learning objectives

To assimilate the student with the nature and use of materials and technologies used in dentistry through a systematic exposition of the chemical structure and physical properties of the materials as well as indications of use and handling with a particular interest in the development of technologies more innovative.

Functions of the masticatory system. Horizontal intermaxillary relations. Vertical intermaxillary relationships. Curves and occlusal planes. Mandibular movements. Types of functional occlusion. Articulators. Impressions and study models. Realization in the laboratory of fixed prostheses. Removable partial dentures. Principles of complete dentures and construction phases and laboratory.
Laws concerning the professional dentists and dental technicians.
Aberrations, and illegal sanctions.
