Learning objectives
Student will be able to: prescribe physical activity instructions appropriate to main non communicable diseases and disability prevention, and to healthy aging; recommend and prescribe physical exercise suitable to clinical, functional, and social context of his patients as primary and tertiary prevention, care, and rehabilitation.
Prerequisites
Physiology and biochemistry notions.
Course unit content
The cognitive behavioural interventions suitable for optimal mental and physical development and maintenance of the highest standard of health, fitness, and quality of live. The mechanisms by which physical activity plays a pivotal role in promotion of health.
Full programme
Physical exercise induced adjustments and adaptations: positive effects in healthy subjects, and for main non communicable diseases prevention (cardiovascular diseases, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, tumors, aging). Sedentary and well-being diseases. Physical exercise prescription (type, intensity, duration, frequency) for clinical purpose (sport therapy) and how accurately administer it.
