Learning objectives
The student, at the end of the course, by integrating the his/her background of anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology, should be able to demonstrate full knowledge of vascular accesses for dialysis, their management, the indications to renal replacement therapy start, including emergency clinical conditions

anatomy and physiology of venous circulation
chemico physical principles of renal replacemet therapies
Course unit content
Training in Nephrology is part of the integrated course on kidney and urinary tract diseases. The course gives the student the basic elements in order to understand general principles of renal replacement therapies, with special regard to hemodialysis, the main concepts about vascular accesses for dialysis,the indications to renal replacement start with special regard to emergency conditions

Teaching methods
The course will be held through internship in the Mephrology ward or in synchronous-streaming (“in telepresenza”) on the Teams platform. Therefore, the opportunity of Student/Teacher interaction will be preserved both face to face and remotely, by the simultaneous use of the Teams platform.
Lectures will be supported by slide presentations, which will be available to students on the Elly platform (https://elly2020.medicina.unipr.it/).
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination.
In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
