Learning objectives
The aim of this course is to provide general information relative to cardiac-surgery patients, to the various problems that such patients may present during the various phases of the disease, at first as cardiopathic patients and then as postoperative patients. Thanks to the training provided by this course, after graduation, the postgraduate in Motor Sciences, will be better able to interact as a professional with patients who have undergone cardiac surgery.

<br />The Cardiac Surgery course concentrates on an in-depth study of the main cardiac diseases of surgical interest. <br />

Topics such as ischemic disease and coronary-aortic by-pass surgery, aortic stenosis and aortic valve replacement surgery with various types of prosthesis and aortic dissection will, therefore, be covered.

Audiovisual aids and slides from the cardiac surgery section will be used.
Teaching methods
The various topics will be dealt with by means of oral lectures accompanied by slides and short films.
